Acne (Acne Vulgaris): Full Explanation

Acne is the most common skin disorder of everyone life as well as the main concern for adults which started from the time of teenage especially on the face and other parts of the body. The topmost anxiety is that if start to vanish one, another one looks to crop up.

What is the main reason to manifest this incidence? In a word, Blockage of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles causing plugged by the combination of sebum (oil), dirt, bacteria and dead cells which are the main trigger for Acne. Along with, genetics or inherited factor, age, hormonal changes, Fungus (Pityrosporum folliculitis), some medications, environments (Mainly high humidity condition), foods, use of inappropriate oily or greasy cosmetics, stress etc., also play a key role in acne. 

Some serious types of acne may lead to the pit skin or thick scars taking long time to recover to the normal skin and even sometimes, skin color may change to light or dark.

  •  Head.

Treatments:

There are numerous over-the-counter medications in different forms like facial washes, lotions, serums, creams, gel, soap etc., for the treating of various types of acne. Among them, most commonly products and other treatments are mentioned below as a brief:

  • Salicylic Acid containing facial cleanser or lotion helps to remove the damaged skin by dissolving dead cells and prevents plugging of hair follicles.
  • Aloe Vera gel accelerates wound healing, fights against bacterial infection and skin inflammation.
  • Benzoyl Peroxide facial wash or gel is very effective to clear out the acne producing surface bacteria.
  • Azelaic Acid has beneficial effect to kill bacteria on the surface and diminished skin swelling.
  • Tea tree oil acts very well to reduce the skin inflammation as well as prevent infection by killing the bacteria. Also, the application of green tree has the same effect on skin.
  • Some antibiotics such as Clindamycin, Doxycycline, Minocycline, Erythromycin are useful to treat acne.
  • Vit-A products tretinoin or isotretinoin of different concentrations are helpful to acne treatment.
  • Some oral contraceptives are useful for treating acne in association with the women menstruations.
  • Zinc and fish oils play an important role for wound healing and reducing inflammation and, ultimately, diminishing the pimples.
  • Other treatments are Lasers treatment, Witch hazel application , using Chemical peels, regular sound sleep, consuming Steroids and Apple cidar vinegar, eating healthy foods, fruits, and vegetables.
